The Formula 1 Las Vegas GP divided fans’ opinions ever since it was announced. Many fans thought Formula 1 was there for the show, while others wanted to give it a chance. This behavior was mirrored by the drivers themselves. Max Verstappen criticized the event from the get-go. Meanwhile, drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso recognized the investment and gave it a shot. After the Las Vegas GP, Lewis Hamilton vehemently praised the event. Even Max Verstappen had something nice to say, as reported by RacingNews365.
“Like Baku but Better”
Lewis Hamilton compared the Las Vegas GP to Baku, another chaotic Formula 1 street circuit. He said, “The race was great, it was one of the best races.”
“So many people, all the media, everyone’s been so negative about this race and about the show and all that, [we needed] to just let it be and see how it [went].”
“[It was a] great race, it was like Baku, but better.”

“Lot of Negativity”
Speaking after the Las Vegas GP, he continued, “There’s been a lot of negativity about having three Grands Prix in the United States and people are talking about bringing back the old classic races from Europe.”
“This has provided a better race than most of the tracks we go to. I think really hats off to the people that run the show and I can’t wait to come back and hopefully have a better race here next year.”
“Vegas put on a great event. Next year is going to be even better, now we’ve gone through it and there’ll be loads of learnings. I’m really grateful for Vegas for having us.”
“Today was Fun”
Even Max Verstappen praised the racing at the Las Vegas GP. He said, “I always expected it to be a good race, it was just – like I said before – four long straights, low-speed corners and you don’t lose a lot of downforce.”
“So that has never been my issue. That’s the only thing I want to say about it; I think today was fun. I hope everyone enjoyed it.”
