Sunil Chhetri, the captain of the Indian football team, has appealed to support the Indian cricket team in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final. The Men in Blue are playing a nail-biting battle against Australia in an attempt to avenge their defeat in 2003. Australia bowled India out for 240 in front of a booing home crowd at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

“To every Indian supporter in the stadium – make sure that our bowlers run up to a roar for every SINGLE BALL.” Chhetri wrote in Twitter.

India’s first-innings performance against Australia left a lot to be criticised; the Men in Blue were dismissed right after 240 runs. Half-centuries from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were the only positive aspect in an overall poor batting performance.

Sunil Chhetri, came to their aid as they continued to bowl. Chhetri took to social media to express his support for the team taking on record-holders Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He even urged the fans to keep their faith and support for the Indian Cricket Team who are undefeated for 10 games.

“This team has given us 10 flawless games. Let’s give them an unforgettable one. Pull these boys over the line,” Chhetri urged.

India has made a good start bowling. The hosts grabbed the wickets of David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, and Steve Smith early on, thanks to Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah, setting for an exciting finish to a great event.

Sunil Chhetri and his teammates are also in a crucial moment for Indian football, as they compete in the second round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. After a spectacular victory over Kuwait, the Blue Tigers are preparing to face 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar on November 21st.
