Real Madrid has announced that the club’s Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior, has sustained a serious injury to his left hamstring that is expected to keep him out for approximately 10 weeks.
Vinicius was with Brazil squad at international break this week but was withdrawn from the match against Columbia in the 27th minute after suffering the injury.
The Brazil team earlier ruled Vinicius Jr out of the tie against Argentina. He left the Selecao camp for Madrid and underwent further tests at the club’s facilities.
The test results are out and its not something that the Los Blancos and Selecao supporters want to hear.
Real Madrid Statement
A statement from the club read: “Following tests carried out today on our player Vinicius Jr. by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a tear in his left femoral bicep which is affecting the tendon in his hamstring. His recovery will be monitored.”
Although the club did not provide a time frame, The Athletic reported that the forward will be out for around 10 weeks due to the thigh problem. This means the forward will be out till at least the end of January and will not be a part of the Madrid squad in the next two months.
The former Flamengo prodigy has become a key member of the Real Madrid squad, having already made 238 appearances as a 23-year old.

He has so far scored six times in 13 games in all competitions this season, hoping to match his best goal-scoring season so far in the last campaign when he netted 23 times.
“We will come back stronger,” he wrote on social media platform X after his diagnosis, revealing his strong mentality. Fans will certainly be hoping Vinicius Jr comes back as soon as possible.
