Amid preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup final between India vs Australia in just a few hours, the Indian Football Team is gearing up for one of the biggest games of the year: India vs Qatar at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying tie. Indian football lovers are all excited about the tie and demand for tickets are soaring. The fans are gathering up in large numbers outside the stadium. They have been spotted queueing up at the ticket counters to witness Sunil Chhetri and co. in action.

India’s blistering start

India has been drawn in Group A of the second round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. They are placed alongside Qatar, Kuwait and Afghanistan. India won their first game of the qualifiers 1-0 Kuwait away at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City. The Indian team’s performance at the away game has Indian football faithful hopeful of the Blue Tigers reaching the third round of the World Cup qualifiers.

That confidence has resulted in the craze for India vs Qatar tie to be played in Bhubaneswar. In a video on social media, a fan has captured this excitement.

Numerous fans can be seeing queueing up outside the AFC Box Office outside the Kalinga stadium to collect tickets for the important tie.

Kalinga Stadium has a capacity of 15,000. With the excitement seen on the streets of Bhubaneswar, it can safely be assumed that the TV cameras will have a hard time finding empty seats in the stadium when India take the field.
