As the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 approaches its pinnacle moment with the final clash between India and Australia on the horizon, Team India is leaving no stone unturned in their preparation. Members of Team India took part in the optional practice session in Ahmedabad ahead of IND vs AUS final on Sunday, November 19.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, opener Shubman Gill along with Suryakumar Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took part in the optional training session at Narendra Modi Stadium.
India’s star players Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah opted to skip the training session and stayed back in the hotel.
Rohit Sharma didn’t bat in the nets but monitored the proceedings and later participated in fielding drills.
Notably, the unbeaten hosts, led by Captain Rohit Sharma, are eyeing their moment of glory in front of a home crowd.
Before the practice session kicked off, Captain Rohit Sharma addressed the press conference, providing insights into the team’s mindset, preparations, and expectations for the final clash.
The Indian skipper revealed that the squad is calm and composed but they know how big the game is going to be.
“There’s a laugh going around in the changing room, there’s a bit of tensed faces, I am not going to hide it. But that’s the beauty of sport. We have to put our game face on. Like I said, playing for India is as good as playing the final everyday. We have enjoyed our journey and time for a final push now”, Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match conference.
