Erling Haaland will be out of Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifying clash against Scotland due to an injury sustained in their recent win over the Faroe Islands. The injury is sure to worry Manchester City and its manager Pep Guardiola ahead of a busy schedule after the international break.
Haaland was stretchered off in pain after sustaining an ankle injury. The forward received treatment and played on, but there were worries about his condition.
The Norwegian FA’s medical department had said Haaland will travel to Scotland with the aim of playing in the match. However, the Norwegian Football Association’s team doctor, Ola Sand, has confirmed that Haaland will not be taking part in the match.
According to Norway, the striker, who is with Manchester City, has suffered a minor injury. He will not be available for the match against Scotland as he is in a lot of pain and his involvement is somewhat limited.
However, Norway will not be calling up a replacement for Haaland, manager Stale Solbakken has said. “This is a great opportunity for the offensive players in the squad,” he said.
“Haaland is in so much pain and somewhat restricted function that the Scotland game unfortunately comes a little too early,” a medical update said.
Erling Haaland to miss top of table clash?
Manchester City will take on Liverpool on Saturday, 25th November in a top-of-the-table clash when the Premier League resumes after the international break. The absence of a prolific striker like Haaland might be a big boost for Juergen Klopp and his Liverpool team who had a forgettable last season.

The Cityzens will be looking to open up a four-point gap from Liverpool when they take on the Merseyside team. Liverpool is just one point adrift of City and sit at the second spot of the Premier League table, level on points with Arsenal. A victory over City would mean Jurgen Klopp and his team will topple City from the top of the table. The absence of Erling Haaland might be a big factor in the game.
