Telugu Titans, over the last three seasons, has been the worst-performing team in the PKL for various reasons. One of them was the team’s ineffective raiding and the absence of a star raider. That is the reason why team owners went all out during the PKL Auction last month and bagged Pawan Sehrawat for a massive INR 2.605 Cr. Now the team looks stronger than ever and good enough to make it to the playoffs at least.
But getting the right combination on the mat during Pro Kabaddi will be the key for Telugu Titans. Insidesport takes a look at the predicted 7 for their first match versus Gujarat Giants on December 2.
Pawan Sehrawat
Without any doubt, Pawan is going to be the first member who makes it to every playing 7 for the Telugu Titans. His raiding prowess is second to none, and is a more than decent defender. He would prefer to play either on the right in or the left in. Every team must be wary of him already.
Rajnish Dalal
The raider has been with the team for five years now and has come up with some decent performances. He will certainly be in the centre. In 2021, he scored 112 points from 13 matches, his best performance so far. IN 2022, he got injured early on and could play only two matches.
Parvesh Bhainswal
Parvesh is the most experienced defender in the team and will be the left cover. In the last season for Titans, where everyone else seems to have struggled, he mustered 58 tackle points in 21 matches.
Milad Jabbari
When you have an Iranian defender in the team, look no further. Titans roped in debutant Jabbari at the PKL auction, and could be the one to watch out for in PKL 2023.
Vinay Redhu
When the team is in trouble, Redhu could be used in do-or-die raids, as a third raider. He, along with Pawan and Rajnish make Titans a good raiding unit. Last year, he had 42 points from 15 matches.
Ankit Jaglan
This year, the Titans’ biggest weakness could be their inexperienced corners. Jaglan will have a lot to prove in the left corner position.
Shankar Gadai
This was once again a tough choice between a few players. But for the first few matches, Titans would be tempted to try out Gadai, who did play a season with Gujarat Giants, and has 25 tackle points under his belt. If he fails, some new faces might be tried.
