Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe responded to PSG boss Luis Enrique’s criticism, saying he has had coaches in his career before who have spoken to him ‘badly’ but those harsh words have not stopped him from playing well.

After scoring a hat-trick in PSG’s 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Reims, the French star was the subject of Enrique’s bizarre post-match comments. Enrique insisted he ‘wasn’t happy’ with his talismanic striker and insisted Mbappe must ‘do more’ despite him scoring all three goals in PSG’s victory.

“I have nothing to say about the goals, but he can help the team in another way. I will talk about it with him first, but they are private conversations. Kylian is one of the best players in the world, but we want more,” Enrique had said.

Mbappe was asked about the comments recently. Mbappe is currently away with the French national team. The French ace claimed he has no problems with the PSG boss. “I’ve always worked well with the coaches I’ve had, like Didier Deschamps, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and so on. These are coaches who have spoken to me ‘badly’, so to speak – but it didn’t stop me form playing well and having a good relationship with them.

“I’m a player who’s very demanding of himself, so when I find that demand from my coaches then I’m very happy. I don’t need my manager to tell me I’m the best player in the world every day.”

Kylian Mbappe to Madrid?

However, the move has not materialised because of a number of reasons. Mbappe answered questions on his potential move to Spain once again. The French striker refused to indulge in details though.

“It’s not something that concerns the French national team. You should come to Campus PSG and I’ll respond, the focus is on country above anything else for the next week,” he said.
