Tom Aspinall shook the UFC world at the recent UFC 295 co-main event, clinching the interim heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka. While the question of his next opponent lingers, he revealed his thoughts in a recent conversation with Michael Bisping. Aspinall stated that he won’t grant Ciryl Gane the title shot, especially after Gane turned down Aspinall’s callout following UFC Paris. He also shared his future plans.

Tom Aspinall Don’t Want Interim Title Fight with Ciryl Gane

In a recent conversation on the Believe You Me Podcast with Michael Bisping, newly crowned UFC Interim champion Tom Aspinall asserted that Ciryl Gane won’t be receiving a shot at his interim heavyweight title next. Notably, Aspinall mentioned Gane turning down his callout after UFC Paris as a key factor in denying him the title shot.

He stated, “Ciryl Gane is waiting. I’m not fighting him. No because I did the work on him, I called him out after the fight then he turned it down he doesn’t want to fight me. And I then showed up in his hometown Paris openly said it on mic. He doesn’t wanted to fight me. Now I got the title he wants to leave everybody and fight me wait why not before I called you out 3-4 times.”

Aspinall expressed his belief that Gane shouldn’t have the privilege of fighting for the gold whenever he desires. The UK fighter proposed that Gane should face Jailton Almeida, and if Gane emerges victorious, he would then consider giving him a title shot. However, if Gane doesn’t win, Aspinall made it clear that there won’t be a title shot for him.
