The Premier League on Friday handed a 10-points deduction to Everton for breaching the Financial Fair Play rules. While the ban pushes the Toffees to the 19th place in the Premier League table, the Everton fans have been left frustrated by the stepmotherly treatment meted out to them. Manchester City, who has been facing over 100 charges on the same lines, is yet to face any punishment whatsoever.

Manchester City have been found guilty of more than 100 Financial Fair Play (FFP) infringements over a period of nine years, from 2009-10 to 2017-18. After a long-running inquiry into the club that has been bogged down in legal proceedings, the league confirmed that the alleged infringements had been handed over to a commission. City could face a number of sanctions. The sanctions range from points deductions to even potentially being expelled from the league if found guilty.

However, no action has been taken yet against Pep Guardiola’s team. That has added to the wrath of Toffee fans, who has accused the Premier League of turning a blind eye.
