Not Hardik Pandya but Suryakumar Yadav will likely lead the India Cricket Team for the upcoming India vs Australia T20 series. Initially, there were plans to rest SKY as he is playing in the World Cup, but now SKY will get an extended period of action and is likely to lead the Men in Blue. With just the finals remaining, India will announce the squad after 19th November.

Hardik Pandya picked up an ankle ligament injury while bowling against Bangladesh and thus has been ruled out for the World Cup. The Veteran all-rounder is continuing his recovery at the NCA and as per the latest updates, he will miss the action for the IND vs AUS T20 series.

Suryakumar Yadav to Lead India

Hardik Pandya is the designated skipper of the T20 squad, but now with him being absent, as per The Indian Express, SKY will be entrusted with the duty to lead his side in the upcoming 5 T20I matches. Barely 4 days after the conclusion of the World Cup Final, the two sides will lock horns. While a majority of the seniors will get their much-needed break, a few of the seniors like SKY, Ishan Kishan, and others will be in action.

The Men in Yellow announced their squad midway through the World Cup, but the BCCI decided not to rush. In fact, they left it much late. Earlier, it was learned that the squad could be announced after the semis, but with India reaching the finals, in all likelihood as InsideSport mentioned, the squad is likely to be announced on 20th November.

Suryakumar Yadav is the World Number 1 T20I batter and will be a perfect candidate to lead his side against the mighty Aussies. Ever since the injury of Hardik Pandya, SKY has retained his spot at Number 6 and has come in quite handy for the Men in Blue to finish the innings. With T20 more suited to his style, SKY will be keen to showcase his blitzkrieg against Aussies in the upcoming T20I series.
