India Cricket Team has been on a winning spree in the ongoing World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue are set to face the mighty Australia in the final match of the competition to be played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It must be mentioned that team India are yet to lose a single match in the World Cup as they have won their all ten games so far.

Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to repeat the antics of 2011 WC as they take on the former champs Australia. Meanwhile, in this article we will talk about the much-anticipated World Cup final match and some key points which make the home side as favorites for the upcoming clash.

1. Current form

As stated above, team India has been on a 10-match winning streak in the World Cup. Recently, the Men in Blue defeated the high-flying New Zealand in the semi-final match by 70 runs. On the other hand, the Indian side is also dominating the most runs and most wickets column in the World Cup.

Star batter Virat Kohli is currently sitting on top of the most runs list after amassing 711 runs in just 10 matches. Skipper Rohit Sharma is also in the top 5 after scoring 550 runs in ten matches. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami holds the top spot in the bowling department. The right-arm pacer has scalped 23 wickets in just six matches.

India’s record at Narendra Modi Stadium

Team India has maintained a good record at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Previously known as Motera stadium, the Men in Blue have won all four games at the venue since it has been renovated as the World’s biggest stadium. Their recent win at the venue came against the arch-rivals Pakistan as Rohit Sharma and Co. thumped PAK by 7 wickets.

IND vs AUS recent ODI history

Despite the Aussies dominating the overall records, team India has hold the edge in the recent ODI matches. Before the World Cup, the Men in Blue defeated Australia in a 3-match ODI series. Apart from that, Rohit Sharma and Co. also registered a win over the Men in Yellow in their opening encounter of the World Cup.

Chasing a small total of 200 runs, India lost some early wickets but KL Rahul and Virat Kohli steadied the ship for the home side as they eventually won the match by 6 wickets. Team India will look to repeat their antics in the final match as well and end their ICC trophy drought on Sunday.
