“Bud Light is the right move for me” – Dana White on Bud Light deal
White recently joined Theo Von for an episode on his podcast. The two spoke about a whole host of topics ranging from combat sports to business. And when speaking about business decisions, White defended his decision to partner with the controversial beer brand.
In response to the criticism, White said, “It’s like this whole Bud Light deal. You know, people are talking sh*t now. Sellout and all this sh*t they’ll f*cking say. Believe me, I’m the further f*cking thing from a sellout. Bud Light is the right move for me, they’re exactly who I want to be with right now, and we are very aligned as far as core valued go.”
White then explained how the two companies match on their core values. He said Bud Light employs over sixty-five thousand Americans. That in itself should be enough to strike a deal. Moreover, they also do a lot of work for veterans, first responders, and their families. And these are all the aspects that are also important to the UFC.
Thus, White questioned why people want to put a bullet in a brand that has done so much in the past because of one decision that they made. Therefore, with these comments, it is clear that the UFC and Bud Light deal went further than the money.
