From ‘counting calories’ to delicious jalebis, WATCH Team India grand Diwali party

Ahead of their Sunday World Cup match against the Netherlands, Team India had an extravagant Diwali celebration in Bengaluru. Watch the festivities in the video here.

Team India will be occupied with their on-field responsibilities on Diwali as they face the Netherlands in the final league match of the World Cup 2023 on Sunday. However, they did partake in a cheerful celebration a day prior on Saturday.

The players, accompanied by their families, enthusiastically joined in the festivities, creating a joyful atmosphere. Check out the video below to witness the celebrations.

Virat Kohli made his entrance at the party accompanied by wife Anushka Sharma, while Rohit Sharma arrived with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and their daughter Samaira. Ravindra Jadeja and his wife Rivaba were also in attendance, along with other players including Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, and Ishan Kishan.

Shardul Thakur with by his wife Mitali Parulkar, was also present. The video shows Ishan Kishan playfully teasing Shubman and Shardul for donning identical kurtas with the same design, adding a lighthearted and fun touch to the celebration.

Head coach, Rahul Dravid, joined the festivities and extended his Diwali wishes to the players. Suryakumar Yadav was also present at the celebration. The pace trio of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj, took photographs together during the celebration.

Team India in prime form for semis

Having won in all eight of their World Cup matches thus far, India have secured a spot in the semi-finals where they will face New Zealand on November 15 in Mumbai. The Men in Blue will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten record by defeating the Netherlands in their final league match.

The team appears to be in excellent condition, a positive indicator as they approach the crucial knockout stages. It’s worth noting that the upcoming semi-final against New Zealand is a repeat of the 2019 World Cup semi-final, a match India lost. The team is determined to seek redemption for that defeat.
