Conor McGregor Believes That Michael Chandler Is Not Confirmed By UFC

Conor McGregor is anticipated to make his octagon comeback next year, having taken a break from competition for more than two years.

Recently, Conor McGregor posted on social media explaining how the UFC might unexpectedly announce his comeback match without telling him in advance. Fans anticipate that Michael Chandler will be the one to greet the Irishman when he returns to competition, but it doesn’t seem like the fight has been finalized yet.

Following a painful leg fracture sustained during his bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, McGregor was forced to the sidelines. Before returning to training, the Irishman had to recover from surgery for many months and go through a rigorous physical rehabilitation program.

Conor McGregor Believes UFC Can Do A Surprise Announcement

Conor McGregor is anticipated to make his octagon comeback next year, having taken a break from competition for more than two years. Although Michael Chandler is most likely going to be the opponent for the return, the UFC has not yet confirmed the pairing.

Several people conjectured that the McGregor-Chandler fight was called off in light of McGregor’s problems with USADA in recent months. The Irishman appears to support that in his most recent tweet. He penned:

I promise the UFC would never even have to announce to me who I am fighting, they could do a surprise announcement out of nowhere, a date, an opponent, completely out of the blue, absolutely anyone, at any time, and I’d be in the gym prepping tactics for it. This is legally binding.

Although McGregor would not directly rule out a bout with Chandler, he did caution supporters that the organization had the legal right to match him at any time with an unexpected opponent. Notably, as of October 2023, “The Notorious” is once again a part of the USADA testing pool.
