‘It’s a two-way thing’, Virender Sehwag hits back after facing flak for trolling Pakistan team

Pakistan got knocked out of the World Cup 2023 after England opted to bat first at Eden Gardens.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has been in the news for brutally trolling the Pakistan cricket team after their exit from the Cricket World Cup. Known for his humor and wit, Virender Sehwag earlier uploaded a post on his Instagram account where he made fun of the Pakistan cricket team. In the post, Sehwag expressed his hope that the Pakistan cricket team would have enjoyed the Indian biryani and warm hospitality, bidding them a safe journey back home. This was complemented by a shared banner symbolizing a definitive ‘Bye Bye Pakistan.’

However, the Pakistani fans did not liked Sehwag’s gesture as some of them termed his post as ‘disgusting’ and requested ICC to look after the safety of Pakistan Cricket team. Meanwhile, Sehwag on November 11 (Saturday) gave a fitting reply to all the Pakistani fans as he uploaded another post with a lengthy caption on it. Take a look.

Every action has an equal reaction, wrote Virender Sehwag

In his post, Sehwag compared the performances of both India and Pakistan in the previous World Cup editions. He also opined that the Pakistani team mocked India Air Force by posting pictures of having tea in Hyderabad. The veteran also stated the neighbouring country only spreads hate towards India.

“In the 21st century there have been 6 ODI world cups. In 6 attempts, only once in 2007 did we not qualify for the semi-finals and have qualified in 5 of the last 6 World cups. On the other hand only once have Pakistan qualified for the semis in 6 attempts in 2011. And they come up with ridiculous allegations blaming ICC and BCCI of changing balls and pitch,” Sehwag wrote on X.

“Their Prime Minister mocks us when we lose to another team despite having beaten them. Upon reaching here , their player posts pictures of enjoying tea in Hyderabad with sarcasm to mock our soldier. The PCB chief on camera refers to our country as Dushman Mulk. And they expect love for their hate. And those preaching class, that is a two way street. Jo Achha vyavhar kare uske saath hum bahut hi achhe, aur jo aisa vyavhar kare toh sahi mauke par soot samet lautana is my way. On field bhi, off-field bhi,” the former cricketer added.

Insidesport

Notably, Pakistan had a disappointing run in the tournament. The Men in Green are out of the World Cup after the defending champs England opted to bat first at Eden Gardens. To note, Pakistan needed to bat first to have any chance of going past New Zealand’s NRR to seal the semi-final spot.
