Delhi Capitals permanent skipper Rishabh Pant alongside director Sourav Ganguly were present in the DC training camp on November 10 (Friday). In a video that has gone viral on the social media, both Rishabh Pant and Ganguly are captured to talking to each other as they also monitored some new faces in the camp ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. It must be noted that Delhi Capitals had a very poor run in the last IPL edition. However, DC will be looking to change their fortunes in the next season.
Rishabh Pant will play in next IPL: Sourav Ganguly
Earlier, DC director Sourav Ganguly confirmed that Pant will play in the next IPL edition. To note, the left-handed batter suffered a horrific car accident on December 31, 2022 and has been out of the action since then.
“Rishabh Pant is in good shape. He will play from next season. He will not practice now. He is here till 11th November. We had a discussion about the team with Pant as he is the captain of the team, considering the upcoming auctions,” Ganguly was quoted as saying to IndiaToday.
As stated above, Delhi Capitals had a very poor run in the last IPL. DC finished second last on the points table with just five wins in their 14 matches. Under the leadership of David Warner, the Capitals campaign never started as they suffered defeats on regular basis. However, DC will be looking to the turn the tables in IPL 2024 as they gear up for the upcoming auction set to be conducted in December. Pant is also expected to play a crucial role in team’s strategy for the upcoming event.
