Manchester City's striker Erling Haaland breaks tie with Messi in the Champions League after adding two goals to his tally

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland played against BSC Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League last time out. He scored two goals against them to take his tally up to 39 goals in the Champions League. This broke his tie with Lionel Messi for the second most Champions League goals scored before turning 24.

Erling Haaland is also now just two goals shy from breaking Kylian Mbappe’s record, which stands at 40 goals. Erling Haaland has consistently been breaking records ever since he joined Manchester City. He will surely cross 40 Champions League goals before turning 24 and add another record to his achievements.

Haaland scored his first goal against Young Boys in the 23rd minute. Lauper fouled Rico Lewis in the penalty area, and Manchester City was awarded a penalty. Haaland stepped up and converted the penalty to score his first. Haaland added to his tally in the 51st minute of the game. Rico Lewis cut the ball back to Haaland, who stepped away from Amenda and finished into the top right corner to take his Champions League goal tally to 39, and beating his tie with Lionel Messi.
