Australia skipper Pat Cummins provides much-needed Glenn Maxwell injury update

Glenn Maxwell is in spotlight due to his scintillating 201 against Afghanistan whilst battling injury. Pat Cummins provides update on star batter.

While all the cricket experts and fans are catching yet another glimpse of the staggering knock of Glenn Maxwell, Australia skipper Pat Cummins has provided a huge update on Maxwell’s injury. In his knock of unbeaten 201 runs, Maxwell also batted half those runs on one leg. He smashed Aghan bowlers to all parts of the ground in an absolutely freakish ODI innings ever.

While everyone is still in awe of the 35-year-old’s astonishing knock, Cummins was asked a million-dollar question in the press conference of Maxwell’s participation in the next game.

Cummins said in a firm affirmation that “Maxwell will be fine. We’re just chatting about it, all the players, and we’ve decided it’s one of those days where you just go, ‘I was there in the stadium the day Glenn Maxwell chased down that total by himself.”

“He was cramping, but I think you saw out there how much he loves playing for Australia and (that he’d) do anything to play.”

Cummins could hardly believe the range of shots Maxwell played while he was hobbled,” Cummins said in the press conference.

Australia will play their last group stage game against Bangladesh on Saturday (November 12) at MCA stadium in Pune. The five-time champions have already qualified for the semi-final of the World Cup. Cummins can afford to rest his star player from the last game Maxwell against Bangladesh.

However, the bigger question is whether will Maxwell play in the semi-final and the final of the World Cup if Australia qualifies for the finale.
