WATCH: Pakistan cricket team goes for shopping in Kolkata ahead of crucial PAK vs ENG clash

The players from Pakistan seemed to enjoy their shopping spree, picking up items like sarees and shirts from the local stores.

Pakistan cricket team is gearing up for their important World Cup match against England. With the possibility of reaching to the semi-finals hanging in the balance, Pakistan team decided to visit some places in Kolkata as they also did some shopping before the crucial PAK vs ENG World Cup tie.

Eight Pakistani players went for shopping in Kolkata 

As many as eight Pakistani cricketers, including Usama Mir, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Wasim, Zaman Khan, Agha Salman, and Mohammad Haris reached to the Mani Square shopping mall, which was closer to their hotel. The players seemed to enjoy their shopping spree, picking up items like sarees and shirts from the local stores.

Earlier, Micky Arthur said that the heightened security around players and the team largely confining to the hotel rooms is taking a toll on the Pakistan players.

“What has been tough is the fact that we’ve been under a massive amount of security. And to be fair, I found it difficult. It’s almost like we’ve been back in the COVID times, where you were almost secluded to your floor and your team room,” said Micky Arthur.

“So much so that their breakfast is in a separate room to everybody else,” said Arthur during the pre-match press meet. Arthur said the players’ inability to socialise during such a long tournament has made a tough impact on them during the quadrennial showpiece,” he added.
