After Babar Azam saga, PCB Chief calls-up Fakhar Zaman, announces huge reward

Pakistan's massive unbroken second-wicket stand of 194 between Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam gave them a 21-run DLS victory

In Bengaluru on Saturday, Pakistan’s massive unbroken second-wicket stand of 194 between Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam gave them a 21-run DLS victory. In the first innings, Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson put on a 180-run second-wicket stand to take New Zealand to 401 for 6, a winning total on most days.

After his game-winning knock against New Zealand in the 35th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India, on Saturday, Pakistani left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman was awarded a reward of one million rupees by Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB Management Committee.

After the game, Ashraf spoke with Zaman over the phone and thanked him for his courageous innings against the Black Caps. Zaman is 33 years old.

The left-handed hitter was then given luck for the forthcoming games by the 71-year-old.

What happened b/w Zaka and Babar Azam

Zaka Ashraf, the head of the management committee for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), disclosed Babar Azam’s private WhatsApp communications on LIVE TV last Sunday.

Since it’s unclear if Pakistani captain Babar Azam gave the PCB chief permission to reveal his private messages on live TV, his actions pose ethical questions. Private message leaks could be considered invasions of privacy.

Insidesport

Former Pakistani cricket team wicketkeeper Rashid Latif claimed on Saturday that Zaka Ashraf was allegedly refusing to respond to Babar Azam’s calls and messages.

In a local news station interview, Ashraf denied these claims, claiming that he had never had direct contact with the captain of Pakistan.

Ashraf went to great lengths to bolster his tale, even though he denied ever spoken with Babar. He even sent the interviewer a private WhatsApp message from Babar Azam. Salman Naseer, the Chief Operating Officer of PCB, and Babar Azam’s WhatsApp chat was shown live on TV.
