Real Madrid publish official statement denying Kylian Mbappe negotiation claims

Real Madrid releases a formal statement refuting the rumours that they have been in talks with PSG's Kylian Mbappe.

In response to rumours that they are in talks to recruit Kylian Mbappe from PSG, Real Madrid has issued a statement. The French youngster in in the final year of his contract with the Ligue1 Giants after refusing to extend. The La Liga giants have emerged as the potential destination for Mbappe.

“Given information in the media about negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club, Real Madrid state that this information is categorically false”. the statement read.

Although Mbappe will be free to sign with any team in the summer of 2024, Real Madrid cannot legally begin talks with him until January 1st of the same year. The club has never refuted similar rumours regarding other players, so it’s a little surprising to see this formal proclamation. The Mbappe transfer story is far from finished, as the team appears determined to sign him.
