Power sports couple Ishant Sharma, Pratima Singh blessed with baby girl

Ishant was last seen in action in late October in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

One of India’s finest Test bowlers, Ishant Sharma, has achieved the biggest accomplishment of his life: becoming a father. Ishant, along with his wife Pratima Singh, were blessed with a baby girl on Friday, November 3. The power sports couple (Pratima is a basketball player) were stoked to announce this news in a shared post on Instagram.

“A new baby girl, a world of wonder, hope, and dreams all wrapped in pink. 💕👶❤️🧿. We’re overjoyed to introduce the newest member of our family,” the couple wrote in their post welcoming their first child.

Who is Pratima Singh?

Pratima is a basketball player who started her career in 2003 and has played for the India women’s national basketball team. She, along with her sisters (Divya, Priyanka, Akanksha, and Prashanti), have all represented India at the highest level.

Pratima was part of the Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou, China, and has been a part of the FIBA Asian Basketball Championship three times (twice as a junior and once as a senior).

Ishant Sharma’s comeback in IPL

Ishant made a remarkable comeback in the IPL last year. Having last played in the 2021 edition, the tall pace bowler claimed 10 wickets from his 8 matches to restart his franchise cricket career. Ishant, who is from Delhi, made sure he paid his dues back to the home franchise, the Delhi Capitals.
