The Brazil GP Qualifying lived up to our lofty expectations. It throws up some surprises every year, and this year was no different. The end result might look familiar, but it doesn’t tell the story. Max Verstappen continued his brilliant 2023 Formula 1 campaign with another pole position. However, it was the Aston Martin drivers that surprised everyone by locking out the second row. More surprisingly, it was Lance Stroll in P3 ahead of his teammate Fernando Alonso.
Q1 Drama
Q1 at the Brazil GP Qualifying was delayed by 15 minutes. Once it got going, the Formula 1 cars made their way onto the track. They expected rain in the middle of the session. This put extra pressure on the drivers because each lap mattered.
However, no rain came and this meant that most drivers ended up on different run plans. This gave us an exciting end as both the Alfa Romeos, Alpha Tauris, and Logan Sargeant got eliminated.

Q2 Excitement
Q2 at the Brazil GP Qualifying was one of the closest sessions of the year. It was extremely tight between the drivers, especially the top 10.
Lando Norris was the quickest ahead of Max Verstappen. However, the gap between him and Lance Stroll in 10th place was less than 4 tenths of a second. This was all set up for a mega shootout in Q3.
Q3 Dominance
However, what followed was sheer brilliance from one man. The fabled rain finally arrived at the Brazil GP in Q3. But it didn’t arrive immediately. And once again, Max Verstappen in his Red Bull rose to the occasion.
With effectively just one lap for pole position, he put in a lap that no one came close to. This meant that once again, he had pole position at the Formula 1 Brazil GP Qualifying.

The Mercedes and McLaren drivers put in an underwhelming performance and will have a lot of work to do on Sunday.
