Hyderabad FC vs Bengaluru FC preview

Hyderabad FC holds an excellent record against Bengaluru FC, having won each of their last four games against Sunil Chhetri and co. However, their start to this season’s ISL has been far from satisfying, with Thangboi Singto’s lodging their first points of this season only in the previous encounter against 10-men Mumbai City FC. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the Nizams to notch their first win of this season’s Indian Super League in front of their home crowd.

“In terms of results, are we the happiest team? Probably not. But, we are happy with the effort and the way the boys are digging and pushing for the equaliser (against Mumbai City FC). That is commendable because, we have been speaking about transition, new players coming in. For us, definitely playing against 10 men would have been easier, as everyone would believe, of course, you can win easily against them but that is not the easiest thing. Because, as a team when you are down with a player, you work hard, you run harder,” Singto said ahead of the match.

Bengaluru FC on the other hand had endured a similar start as Hyderabad FC in the campaign. Chhetri and his men started out with two back-to-back losses against Kerala Blasters FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant in their first two matches. They registered their first points of this ISL with a victory over East Bengal FC in their third match. BFC bagged yet another point against FC Goa in the next match, but faltered against Odisha FC in the previous match. They will be looking to turn the tide around in their favour again with a victory over the Nizams.

Bengaluru FC head coach Simon Grayson explained how they lost the previous match against the Kalinga warriors at a press conference before HFC match. “We played very well, especially the first 30 minutes, we totally dominated the game, we scored two very good goals, and limited Odisha from having shots on target. After that, the first goal was a fantastic strike from them and then we made a couple of mistakes for the second and third goal and the sending off didn’t help. Overall, if you look at the performance, it’s probably the best we played in the whole season,” he said.
