WATCH angry Shreyas Iyer rebuttal on his short ball ‘problem’, Video Viral

Shreyas Iyer blistering knock of 82 against Sri Lanka did not grab headlines during post match presentation, but his short-ball trouble did

Coming into the India vs Sri Lanka match, there were question marks over Shreyas Iyer’s problem against the rising ball. Since coming back from a shoulder injury, the majority of opponents have taken his wicket by bowling bouncers. Wherever Shreyas goes, there is always talk about short ball. Despite scoring a scintillating 82 against the Lankans in Mumbai, the journalist did not show any mercy and asked Shreyas about his troubles with the short ball. The 28-year-old tackled the question on the front foot and gave the journalist a savage reply.

Taking the question head-on, Shreyas said, “What short problem, I don’t have any problems. It is you guys that have created a ‘Maahol’ outside that I have problems with rising ball. I have played a lot of pull shots and got boundaries also. It’s just that sometimes it does not go as expected. But in my head, I am confident of acing the short ball challenge.” Iyer said in the post-match presentation.

Also playing at his home ground, the 28-year-old mixed caution with aggression and enabled India to post a huge score of over 300. Skipper Rohit Sharma was also in awe of Shreyas’s fluent batting and lavished praise on him.
