Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has officially signed a contract extension with Real Madrid, extending his stay with the club until the end of the 2027 season, as confirmed by the Spanish club on Tuesday.

“Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior. have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract, linking him to the club until 30 June 2027,” the club said in a statement.
Vinicius joined Madrid from Brazilian giants Flamengo in 2018 and has since established himself as one of the best players in La Liga, scoring the winner against Liverpool in last year’s Champions League final.
His current deal was set to end at the end of the current season. Spanish media had earlier reported that an extension was agreed last year but was only confirmed on Tuesday.
While the club did not provide any financial details, Spanish media reported that the deal included a release clause of up to one billion euros, as is the norm now with the big Spanish clubs.

“At the club of my dreams until 2027 and for more titles together..The biggest and best club in the world,” Vini wrote on his social media account after the contract announcement.
Vinicius, who came in sixth on Monday in this year’s Ballon d’Or voting, was also awarded the prestigious Socrates Award, named after the Brazilian soccer star, for his humanitarian efforts.
He scored 23 goals last term, adding 21 assists, as Madrid lifted the Copa del Rey for the first time since 2014.
The announcement of the renewal of his contract follows his recognition of his community-oriented work at the prestigious Ballon d’Or in Paris on the day of the award ceremony. He is the benefactor of the Vini Junior Institute, a foundation dedicated to the education of disadvantaged Brazilian children through the use of technology.
