Step away from semifinals! India Cricket Team eye repeat of Asia Cup final in IND vs SL game

Indian Cricket Team aims to official seal semi finals berth by replicating Asia Cup 2023 final performance in IND vs SL clash

Just a win and the India Cricket Team officially secures the semi-finals spot of the ongoing Cricket World Cup. But for Rohit Sharma, the aim is simple. The Men in Blue will dearly want an IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 Final repeat. The Lankans were blown apart by a Mohammed Siraj masterclass and the Indian openers chased down the 50-run target within 7 overs to seal a comprehensive win for the Men in Blue.

The stakes are certainly different in this upcoming clash. India has a perfect record in the World Cup and comfortably sits on the top of the points table with 12 points while Sri Lanka is positioned 6th with 4 points. Mohammed Siraj produced his best-ever figures in ODIs when he went to claim a six-fer by giving away just 21 runs.

Siraj has been decent in the World Cup picking up wickets in regular intervals but he is yet to replicate his ferocious bowling that he showcased in the Asis Cup finals. The Indian batting unit however has been quite dependable. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the two stalwarts in India’s batting unit have fired in the World Cup.

Still, with KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and SKY present, India boasts of having a perfectly balanced team that can overcome any obstacle.

Coming to the bowling unit, Jasprit Bumrah has been fiery. Kuldeep on the other hand has arguably been the biggest threat to the opposition. Siraj and Jadeja have also contributed to breaking crucial partnerships in the middle overs. Lastly comes Mohammed Shami. After warning the bench for quite a few opening games, Shami roared back to form after having scalped 9 wickets from just 2 games.
