Ekana Stadium Pitch Report

Ekana Stadium has produced slow pitches in the past and the run scoring used to be tideus task for the batters on the sluggish surface. However, since the re-laying of the pitch earlier this year, the pitch has improved drastically. While the run scoring improved, there was some assistance for the bowlers during the day. Team winning the toss would look to bowl first on the wicket.

Insidesport

The Three Lions had made three changes to their Playing XI for the Sri Lanka clash. Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone replaced Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook and injured Reece Topley in the line-up. However, the trio couldn’t make much impact in the game.

While, Liam Livingstone was dismissed on 1, Moeen Ali scored 15 before getting caught. Chris Woakes couldn’t open his account with the bat and failed to get any wicket with the ball.

However, despite a failed outing, the trio is most likely to stay in XI for the India clash. Moeen Ali enjoys a good record against Virat Kohli with the ball and Chris Woakes was impressive the last time India and England faced each other in ODIs. With pitch set to assist spinners, Liam Livingstone could come handy with the ball in middle overs.
