WATCH: Little fan emotional reaction after Virat Kohli missed his century in IND vs NZ match

Virat Kohli missed a hundred by just five runs in the recently concluded IND vs NZ World Cup match in Dharamshala.

Virat Kohli was on the verge of creating history as he was about to equal Sachin Tendulkar for most centuries in ODI cricket. Facing New Zealand in a crucial World Cup match, Kohli batted brilliantly. However, the right-handed batter missed the 100-run mark by just five runs. Meanwhile, a video of a kid crying after Kohli missed his century is going viral on the social media platforms.

As mentioned above, Virat Kohli’s 95 helped the hosts India beat New Zealand by four wickets in a top-of-the-table meeting at the World Cup on Sunday. Kohli could not reach the three figures mark but was instrumental again as India reached a victory target of 274 with two overs to spare to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament.

Their fifth successive win put the two-times champions at the top of the table, followed by the 2019 runners-up New Zealand who suffered their first defeat of this year’s tournament.

Meanwhile, Kohli also went on to become the fastest batter to amass 1,500 runs against the New Zealand during his recent innings. Apart from that, Kohli also reached on the second spot for most 50s in the World Cup behind Sachin Tendulkar. This was also Kohli’s second successive fifty against New Zealand in Dharamshala. During his knock, Kohli also went on to become the highest run-getter in the ongoing World Cup.

The Men in Blue are now slated to face England in their next World Cup match to be played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. With five wins on the trot, Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to absolutely seal their semi-final berth after their win against the Three Lions on October 29.
