The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have rejected the objections raised by Indian fans and cricket experts over Pakistan players’ support for Palestine. According to reports on Geo.TV, PCB rejected the objections saying: “The team’s expression of solidarity was a personal decision.”
Notably, several players from the Pakistan cricket team, have shown their support for Palestinians on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
On Wednesday, Pakistan players including the likes of Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz shared a photo of the Palestinian flag on their ‘X’ handle.
Earlier, Muhammad Rizwan had dedicated his century in PAK vs SL match to ‘brothers and sisters in Gaza’. Rizwan had received severe backlash from the Indian fans for sharing his support to Palestine.
Notably, the Israel-Palestine war has been escalated in last couple of days. In one of the recent developments, a Hamas air strike accidently hit Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, killing more than 500 people in Gaza hospital attack.
However, Palestinian Civil Defence spokesperson blamed the Israel forces for the attack and called it the “most deadliest air strikes”.
“This was one of the deadliest air strikes by Israel in the history of the conflict. A direct attack on a hospital is an act of genocide,” said a Palestinian Civil Defence spokesperson.
The Men in Green will next face Australia in the World Cup encounter on October 20 in Bengaluru.
