Ahead of the much-awaited IND vs PAK World Cup clash, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has downplayed the match pressure and jokingly said that there is more pressure for match tickets than match.
“No such pressure… but lot of pressure for tickets. Lot of people calling and asking for tickets,” Babar said in the press conference.
The demands for the India vs Pakistan match tickets have been huge. Earlier today, Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav posted a story on Instagram and requested his friends to not ask for tickets.
Meanwhile, during the press conference on the eve of the IND vs PAK clash, Babar Azam opened up about handling pressure and said that it comes with experience.
“Handling pressure comes with experience. When I played the India vs Pakistan match for first
time, I was under pressure. Job of senior players is to give the right message to youngsters.
No need to think more, watch the ball and play the ball,” the Pakistan skipper further added.
When asked about Pakistan’s 0-7 record against India in ODI World Cup, Babar said that the past records does not matter.
“I don’t focus on the records or the past. Our team has been doing well,” said Babar. “This kind of record is meant to be broken. Hope it happens tomorrow,” he added.
Talking about the conditions, Babar said that the toss will play a crucial role since they have seen dew during evening.
“Whatever matches we have seen, toss is vital. There was dew under lights last night”, the 28-year-old said.
The Men in Green received a warm reception and support during their matches in Hyderabad and Babar said that the team is hoping something similar on Saturday.
“I hope there will be many supporters if Pakistan cricket team tomorrow, when we arrived here there were many”, Babar said.
India and Pakistan are set to face on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
