Pakistan Playing XI vs IND: No change for Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman finds no place

Ahead of Mega India vs Pakistan World Cup clash, all eyes are set to be on Babar Azam

The stage is set for the arguably biggest ICC Cricket World Cup game. Babar Azam & Co are ready for India vs Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. And for teh mega clash, Pakistan Playing XI remains unchanged that won them against Sri Lanka. Fakhar Zaman stays out in favour of Abudllah Shafique.

“We also wanted to bowl first. We have had good two wins, momentum and confidence is high. Jam-packed stadium, we will enjoy it. We want to be good in the field, we had a couple of good practice sessions. Same team for us,” Babar Azam said at the toss.

Pakistan might have won both their opening games in the ongoing World Cup, but the Men in Green have not been able to win either with utter dominance. Batting woes continue as World Number 1 batter Babar Azam has failed to score big runs on both occasions. However, the team is looking good and has been keen to rectify the problems that have been troubling them.

Opener Fakhar Zaman has been poor in recent times and failed to score big runs in the opening game against Netherlands. He was dropped in the second game against Sri Lanka and Abdullah Shafique came in his place. Shafique slammed a brilliant century and subsequently leads the battle against Fakhar and is expected to open with Imam Ul Haq against India.

Hopes will be high for Babar Azam to score against India after faltering in the previous two matches. Should he fail again, Pakistan has nothing to worry about. The Men in Green have a strong and dependable middle order.

The likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmad, Saud Shakeel, and Shadab Khan are handy with the bat and can dictate the pace of the game as and when the situation warrants.

Pakistan will head into the game with their three pacers – Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali. On the other hand, Mohammad Nawaz will accompany Shadab Khan in the spin department.
