Adidas has declared October 10th to be Lionel Messi Day. Adidas, Messi’s long-term sponsor and a key MLS sponsor, has taken on the responsibility of maintaining the Inter Miami star’s excellence. The traditional Danish calendar format for October 10 is 10/10. As a result, Argentina’s principal sponsor, Adidas, has opted to name the day after Messi.
Their social media post read:
“10/10 a day. a number. the goat. we introduce from today that 10/10 is officially Messi Day. stay tuned for what’s to come. you’re not ready.“
Messi, widely recognised as one of the best players of all time, is perhaps the most renowned No. 10 in contemporary football. Adidas has now chosen to honour the winner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on October 10.
Lionel Messi has had a huge influence in US soccer after joining Major League Soccer (MLS) team Inter Miami. In 13 games for the Herons, he has scored 11 goals and supplied five assists.
Despite Messi’s strong showing, Tata Martino’s team did not advance to the MLS playoffs. The Miami-based team is 14th in the MLS’s Eastern Conference, with 33 points from 32 games.
Inter Miami has two league games left this season, both at home and away at Charlotte FC. Messi has been inconsistent with the first team recently due to fitness concerns stemming from a muscle ailment sustained during the previous international break.
