New Zealand breaks record for Highest score against Pakistan in ODI World Cup

This is the third time in the ongoing World Cup 2023 that the record for the highest score against Pakistan in ODI World Cup has been broken.

New Zealand has broken the record for the highest score against Pakistan in ODI World Cup history. Before Rachin Ravindra departed in the 36th over, he, along with Kane Williamson made sure to take the side past 250 in just 35 overs in the NZ vs PAK match in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Kiwis broke the record against a lackluster Pakistan bowling line-up sans Naseem Shah.

After a great start by Williamson and Ravindra, cameos by Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, and Mitchell Satner ensured the side went past 400 in the final over.

Interestingly, three of the top five highest scores against Pakistan have come in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Moreover, all of these scores were made by different sides in the last two ODI World Cups.

In the process of the Kiwis reaching 401, Pakistan spearhead Shaheen Afridi broke the record for conceding the most runs by a Pakistan bowler in the ODI World Cup. Afridi ended his 10-over spell with 90 runs and no wickets to his name.
