Rachin Ravindra stuns fans & pundits with brilliant century in World Cup opener

Rachin Ravindra became the youngest batter to score a century in World Cup at age of 23 years, 321 days.

New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra stunned England in the opening game of the ICC World Cup 2023 as the Blackcaps get in commanding position in 283-run chase at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

Rachin, who was promoted up the order, smashed a 82-ball century to put the Kiwis in a dominating position in the run-chase. Earlier, the all-rounder also picked the priced wicket of Harry Brook to help New Zealand restrict England to 282/9.

The 23-year-old hit 9 fours and 4 sixes to reach the three-figure mark. It is also the fastest century by a New Zealand batter in an ODI World Cup.

Cricket pundits and fans were impressed with youngster’s maturity and skills who is just 13 ODIs old.
