WATCH: Pakistan Superfan ‘Bashir Chacha’ raises Pak flag in Hyderabad during PAK vs AUS

The PAK vs AUS World Cup warm-up game also saw Pakistan's national song 'Dil Dil Pakistan' being played during the game.

Pakistan-born superfan of Pakistan cricket team, Bashir Chacha was spotted cheering for Babar Azam and Co. by raising the Pakistan flag during PAK vs AUS World Cup warm-up game in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The match also saw Pakistan’s national song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ being played during the game.

Bashir Chacha, who lives in United States of America, travels all over the world to support the Men in Green. With Pakistani flag in his hand, he travels to watch each and every match of his team to cheer them.

Earlier this week, Bashir Chacha also known as ‘Chacha Chicago’, was in the news after reports emerged that he was detained for questioning by the airport authorities, but the Pakistan super fan confirmed that the news was fake.

“I was never detained for questioning in the airport while I was there to receive the Pakistan team. It was just that they asked me not to wave the Pakistan flag due to security issues. They just took my flag and gave it back once the team departed. It was a fantastic welcome, and I am very happy to be here in India for the World Cup,” Bashir was quoted as saying to Sportstar.

Australia beat Pakistan by 14 runs in World Cup warm-up game

Talking about the game, Australia defeated Pakistan by 14 runs in its second World Cup warm-up match in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Batting first, Australia posted a mammoth 351/7 onboard. Glenn Maxwell was the top scorer for the Men in Yellow with 77. Meanwhile, Pakistan team, who were looking in command in the chase faltered at the end and fell short. Skipper Babar Azam was the top scorer for the Men in Green with a classy 90-run knock.

Pakistan team became the first team to lose both their World Cup 2023 warm-up matches. The Babar Azam and Co. will now begin their World Cup campaign against Netherlands on October 6.
