Asian Games: India add nine medals to tally on Day 9

With decathlon coming to an end, Tejaswin Shankar would like to sign off with a gold medal.

Indian athletes continued to add medals to the tally at the Asian Games. Parul Choudhary created history by becoming the first Indian to win a medal in 5000m. Annu Rani also won the gold in the Women’s Javelin Throw. Tejaswin Shankar meanwhile clinched the silver medal in Decathlon.

The Indian Women’s Hockey team clinched a 13-0 win against Hong Kong in their final pool match. Earlier, the men’s Kabaddi team kick-started the proceedings at the Asian Games on 3rd October with a win. The Pawan Sehrawat-led side clinched a resounding 55-18 victory against Bangladesh in their opening group encounter. The men’s cricket team defeated Nepal in the quarterfinal.
