Jadon Sancho’s new destination, New Real Madrid Manager, Di Marzio opens up Latest Football Transfers

Di Marzio discusses all latest happenings in European Football. From Jadon Sancho's transfer to new Real Madrid Manager, find out

The football season is in full swing but there is no respite to big events happening for the sport. From Victor Osimhen being unhappy with his TikTok video by Napoli to Jadon Sancho vs Erik Ten Hag fight. Who will be the next Real Madrid manager or will Liverpool go for Aurelien Tchouameni? Find out all the latest happenings in European Football as we at InsideSport engage with Gianluca Di Marzio to get to know all the intricate details in the world of football.

Jadon Sancho vs Erik Ten Hag continues and it is highly likely that the English winger will look for a way out from Manchester United in the winter transfer market. With other clubs monitoring this situation, it remains to be seen if Borussia Dortmund continues to become the likelihood destination for Sancho.

Jadon Sancho’s fallout with Erik ten Hag could lead to him moving away. Is a return to Borussia Dortmund on the horizon? Any other clubs that are monitoring Sancho? Barcelona?

“I think this is the easiest solution, to move back to Dortmund, because if you are in a difficult situation at your club it’s better for you to come back to a club that is like a family and a place where you know everyone. But in Italy we would say that the past should stay the past and I think he can find another solution. If he comes back to Dortmund, it’s very likely that it would be seen as he can only play there.”

“So, it depends on what he wants to do with his career. If he wants to start a new era, he could find a new club regardless of whether it will be in Italy, England, Spain or even Germany. Dortmund is a comfort zone for him and the situation he is in but he needs to solve his problems because Man United spent a lot of money on him.”

“It depends on what he and his agent wants with his life but it also depends on Manchester United. They need to decide if they want to sell him or loan him out.Man United´s decision on not letting him train with the first team is very unusual and it´s very serious.”

“I think it would be better for him to find a new club in January. It would be a good thing for him to try something new and kind of restart to find himself again.”

Is Federico Chiesa a player that Man Utd are looking at? Are Juventus willing to let him go in January?

“I don’t think Juventus want to let Chiesa go. He has started the season very well and he is their best player. They want to win the title so I don’t think they want to let him go in January. Honestly, I don’t even think that Chiesa wants to move away from Juventus after six months of the season.”

“Chiesa, more than other players, wants to stay because he is finally playing every game after his many injuries. So, a change in January would be a big risk for him. I think he wants to stay at least until June.”

“He wants to play the European competitions with Juventus and is focusing on being fit and doing well under Spalletti. Obviously, with his technical abilities, he would be perfect for Man United and the Premier League.”

“Liverpool wanted him two or three years ago but he didn’t want to leave Fiorentina for the Premier League. He wanted to stay in Italy. But he is a Premier League player with his technique and he is very powerful. I think a lot depends on his recovery from his injuries. He wants to stay at least until June.”

Victor Osimhen is apparently very unhappy with what the Napoli TikTok admins did. Do you think he will force a move away from Naples?

“Forcing a move through with Napoli´s chairman is the worst way to leave Napoli. He will just let you stay at Napoli until the end of your contract even if it means that the club will not get any money.”

“The problem is the contract because they are not speaking about renewing it anymore and he only has around 1.5 years left on his contract. If they don’t renew the contract they have to sell him in the summer. He was really disappointed with the club and not only the Social Media manager.”

“At this moment he is sad but I don’t think he will force a move through. I know he is on top of Chelsea´s list and they wanted him in January but it’s difficult to convince Napoli to sell him.”

“Napoli wanted £200 million during the summer and maybe he will go down to require £150 million but on the other hand everything is possible at Chelsea. If they want a player, they can get him but they would need to make another record transfer fee.”

Which clubs would be a good fit for Osimhen? Real Madrid, PSG, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea or any other club?

“Real Madrid, not in January. In the summer, it depends on Mbappe and depends on Håland because Real Madrid’s plan is to get both or to get one of them. Mbappe and Håland are on top of their list. If they don’t get one of the two or both, obviously Osimhen who has a year left on his contract can be perfect for Real Madrid. It also depends on the kind of coach they will sign after Ancelotti.”

Who will be the replacement for Ancelotti at Real Madrid?

“Xabi Alonso is the ideal successor to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. Because he’s young, he’s one of the coaches who are doing spectacularly with their teams and their style of play. He knows the Real Madrid world. He knows everything about Spain.”

“Obviously I’m Italian and I think Roberto de Zerbi should be another coach that can change the style of play at Real Madrid and follow the Italian dynasty of coaches at Real Madrid after Carlo Ancelotti.”

“I know Fabio Capello talked to Butragueno some weeks ago and he said you have to follow De Zerbi, because he’s one to watch out for.”

“Then I don’t know if Real Madrid want to risk, even if I think it’s not early, to get De Zerbi now because after this year he will be the top target for English teams and Spanish clubs.”

Could Ivan Toney be an Arsenal player in January? There have been reports that the club are looking to bring him in. What about Tottenham?

“It depends on what Brentford wants to do with Ivan Toney. I think they’ve always asked between 70-80 million for him. Waiting for him after a six-month ban and selling him, could be strange. You wait for this player a lot, and you want to get him back and play for your team to help you to achieve your targets in the season.”

“It depends in January what Brentford’s situation will be. Do they need the player in that position? I know that they are trying to scout other players to replace him. Obviously they are planning to sell him if the offer is high.”

“It’s strange that a club will spend all this money for a player who’s not played for six months. He will need rhythm to play. I think it’s better for all the parties involved in this deal to wait till the summer so you can see the player from January to June and Brentford could have the player in that period. They can then assess the situation in June.”

“I don’t think Toney is the better option for a club like Arsenal who play in a different way, so they need players with a different skill set. I’m not so sure he’s the right striker for the way Arsenal play.”

“Everybody thought Tottenham had to replace Kane with another striker. They didn’t do that and now they are winning all their matches. So I don’t know if they will get a striker now. But yes, Toney and Taremi, who’s another player with similar characteristics and he’s out of contract with Porto in June. So Taremi is another kind of player who has characteristics similar to Kane.”

“Tottenham can think about Toney but they never spent 80 million for a player so it depends on how much Brentford asks for him.”

Dusan Vlahovic still an option for them?

“The situation for Vlahovic is that Juventus tried to do the swap deal with Chelsea but it collapsed and now they don’t have Lukaku to get in this deal. They are trying to let Vlahovic play and try to sell him in June because if he plays and scores, he will have international suitors.”

“I don’t think Juventus will sell him in January but they will listen to offers because at Juventus, at this moment, they listen to every offer they will get about their players. There’s another issue with Vlahovic because when he arrived from Fiorentina he did a five-year contract and in the first three years, he got a salary the first two years, five million net, the third year, nine million net but the last two years, it’s 12 million net. Because they arranged an incremental salary.”

“For the club his last two years salary is 25 million gross so I don’t think they want to have a salary like that on their books. Or they arrange a contract renewal with his agent taking into account the salary situation, in five years.”

“He was not on the top of Pochettino’s list, otherwise they would have done the swap deal. So we will see what kind of club will need Dusan in the summer. Vlahovic won’t be a good option for Arsenal as he and Toney are similar in their characteristics.”

Is Aurelien Tchouameni a player that Liverpool could move for? Do you think he’ll be a good fit at Anfield?

“Real Madrid don’t want to sell Tchouameni. He’s a player that can play in different positions. They won’t sell the player before having a new coach that may want to make him the star of the team or not.”

“In the midfield at Liverpool, they have a lot of new players like Szoblolai and MacAllister so it’s not a priority for Liverpool. If Real Madrid wanted to sell him then Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal would be interested. Real Madrid needs to have the likes of Camavinga and Tchouameni.”

Camavinga plays on the left back for Real Madrid. Will that be a problem for them moving forward?

“It’s not a problem but left back is not his position. Carlo Ancelloti’s attitude is to let his players be happy so if there was a problem he would solve it. In the future, he would not want to be at left-back. He wants to play in his position.”

“If De Zerbi would become the Real Madrid coach, Camavinga and Tchouameni would be central in his plans for Madrid’s future.”

Arthur Vermereen of Royal Antwerp is attracting interest from a host of clubs – Liverpool, Man Utd, Barcelona and AC Milan. Which club do you think is the right option for him?

“He’s a good player and he’s the kind of player that AC Milan want. He’s a young and talented player so AC Milan could be the right step in his career. It could be the right path for him in his career.”

Pierre-Emile Højberg is rumoured to be on the move from Tottenham. Which clubs are interested in him and where do you think he would fit in best?

“If Juventus decided to do this deal, Højberg would suit the Italian style of playing, and the tactical way could be right for Højberg’s future. Juventus won’t spend €30 million in January as they don’t have the money to spend unless they sell a player.”

“Juventus want a different, attacking player like Sudakov or Berardi but it depends on Paul Pogba and if he’s banned for two or three years. If Tottenham would open for a loan with an option then ok but if they want €30 million it will be difficult to get him.”

Will Bayern Munich go back in for Joao Palhinha who recently extended his contract with Fulham?

“He’s the kind of player that they need in the team and it depends on if Fulham want to sell the player in January or summer. They need a player like him to improve their midfield. Tuchel always wanted him in his team and they will try to get him in the future.”

Could this be Xabi Alonso’s last season as Leverkusen’s manager? How likely is it that he will join Real Madrid next season? Or is there any other club in the reckoning as well?

“After this season I think Xabi will go and leave Leverkusen. If it’s not Real Madrid it may be AS Roma who can try to contact him in order to find another coach. We don’t know if Juventus will go for another coach. Even in England, some coaches can change. Xabi Alonso will be one of the top targets of clubs that want to change.”

What’s the latest on Zlatan’s new role at AC Milan? Do you think he’ll be handed a role assisting Stefano Pioli in some capacity?

“Zlatan doesn’t know what he wants to do in his life. When you’re Zlatan you rethink about all the roles he could do in football. Agent, chairman, sporting director, or a coach.”

“He wants more time to decide. AC Milan wants him to come back and will find him a role that he likes. He won’t get involved with the technical side of things because of the coach Pioli but the leadership of Ibrahimovic is ideal for AC Milan after losing Maldini. They don’t have a symbol of a club in difficult moments.
