Afghanistan Cricket Team ropes in Ajay Jadeja as team mentor for World Cup

Ahead of World Cup, Afghanistan Cricket Board ropes Ajay Jadeja as team mentor

Ajay Jadeja has been roped in by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) as the mentor for the Afghanistan Cricket Team for ICC World Cup 2023. The former India team skipper will now have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders to guide the Afghan team. Afghanistan has been rather poor in World Cups and will be looking to change its downtrodden stats in the upcoming World Cup.

Afghanistan has won just a solitary game in their World Cup journey. Afghanistan won just 1 game in the 2015 World Cup when they took part in the tournament for the first time.

But in the next World Cup, i.e. 2019 World Cup, Afghanistan failed to win a single game.

It remains to be seen if the Afghanistan Cricket Team under the captaincy of Hashmatullah Shahidi and the mentorship of Ajay Jadeja be able to win games in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023.
