India kick off their World Cup preparations by playing their first warm-up game against England on Saturday (September 30) in Guwahati. This match will give India their best chance to test their bench strength ahead of the WC opening match against Australia on October 8. Undoubtedly, the defending champions enter the showpiece event as the favorites to win the title for the second time.
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma in all probability play a strong team to try and test out different strategies. The Men in Blue also has a chance to play all their 15 players in the warm-up match.
With Shardul Thakur, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, & Suryakumar Yadav all showing great form in the build-up to the World Cup, Rohit would like these players to play against a strong England unit as well.

The series against Australia went well for India, however, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya played only a game, the final ODI. So, all three players have not got much of the game time. The warm-up against England will provide a perfect opportunity for all these star players to be amongst runs and wickets.
Another major worry for India is fielding, which Rohit Sharma spoke about in several interviews about addressing the issue. The match against England will allow Rohit to test the fielders, ahead of the World Cup.
