World Cup Warm-Up Highlights: The ODI World Cup kicked off with warm-up matches at three different locations: Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad. In the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati Bangladesh registered a 7-wicket win over Sri Lanka in chase of 264. PAK vs NZ saw a high-scoring match where Kiwis emerged victorious. Meanwhile, SA vs AFG in Thiruvananthapuram was abandoned without a toss due to rain.
Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka
Bangladesh secured a comfortable win in chase of 264 against Sri Lanka. Batting first, Sri Lankan openers provided a flying start with the side 114/0 at one point. However, openers’ dismissal opened the flood gates and the side got bowled out for 263. Mahedi Hasan was the star with ball, picking 3 wickets. Meanwhile, opener Tanzid Hasan was the top scorer with the bat for Bangla Tigers.

World Cup warm-up: South Africa vs Afghanistan
The match between South Africa and Afghanistan in Thiruvananthapuram could not take place due to heavy rain. The match was later abandoned without a toss.
Pakistan vs New Zealand
New Zealand registered a 5-wicket win against at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Opener Rachin Ravindra’s 97 off 72 helped New Zealand chase down a mammoth 346-run target in just 43.4 overs. Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson and Mark Chapman also contributed with half-centuries. Earlier, Pakistan posted 345 for 5 batting first. Mohammad Rizwan hit a century (103), while Babar Azam scored 80. Saud Shakeel also impressed with his finishing skills with a 53-ball 75.
