Unlucky Axar Patel! Internet unhappy as Ashwin replaces DC all-rounder

India’s 15-person team for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023 has had to undergo a last-minute adjustment. Axar Patel had a left quadriceps strain during India’s Asia Cup Super Four match against Bangladesh, and he was unable to make a full recovery in time for the World Cup. The spin-bowling all-rounder also missed the Asia Cup championship game.

He has been replaced by veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who had a brilliant comeback to ODI cricket in the recently finished series against Australia, picking up four wickets in two games.

Axar Patel was also named conditionally to the team for the last ODI contingent, however he was unable to play when India lost that match in Rajkot by a score of 66 runs.

Many supporters responded on social media to the news that Axar Patel would not be on India’s World Cup 2023 roster owing to injury.

Axar must be gutted on missing out on a CWC spot after what all he did for the team in the past year..but for the greater good it's good that Ashwin is roped in..makes sense to have him at 8 than anyone else. Two seamers, ash and Kuldeep are good for any opp.

One has to feel extremely sad for Axar Patel. The guy is always treated as the backup all-rounder even though He is a much better batter than Jadeja in white ball.
