No time to bask in the previous glory, Mohun Bagan is focused on a tough battle ahead. The Mariners face Bengaluru FC in their second Indian Super League (ISL) fixture of the new season. After a comfortable 3-1 win against Punjab FC, head coach Juan Ferrando is now seeking another 3 points but has a different plan for Simon Grayson & his boys
The Mariners are on a seven-game unbeaten streak in the league presently and have avoided defeats in all of their previous four home games. But as customary for coach Ferrando, he recounts that every game is different and he has different plans and approaches for every game. When asked If against the Blues he would opt for a 3 center-back setup, Ferrando boldly said his style and plans are different from what he previously played against Punjab FC and against Odisha FC in the AFC Cup clash.
“Maybe, you are talking about the system but the plan is not the same. For me, the most important thing is the plan of the match. What we play against Odisha and Punjab, it’s not the same way we play against Bengaluru. The plan is different from Bengaluru. We have not got a lot of time to prepare the team because we have a lot of matches in a short time but I think it’s necessary to control a lot of details in ourselves (style of play) tomorrow. It’s important we keep in our mind the plan so that we have success,” said Ferrando at the Press conference.

“If we have more time, we try to prepare some details to improve some aspects of our game because it’s necessary for this club to improve our style and methodology. We need time for that. We don’t have that at this moment, but I’m happy because all the players in the squad are ready to push the team. If they can continue in this way and work like a team, then we can surely improve a lot of things and get good results in the future,” Ferrando said on his side’s congested fixtures.
