Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav took his IPL teammate Cameron Green to cleaners on Sunday. The right-handed batter went on to smash four back-to-back maximums as Green looked clueless on a batting paradise in Indore. To note, India is facing Australia in the second ODI being played at the Holkar Stadium.
SKY smashes back to back ODI Fifties
After smashing Green all over the park, SKY completed his second fifty in the last two outings. The right-handed batter finished on 72 runs in just 37 balls which included 7 fours and the same number of maximums. Earlier in the series, Surya showed some great resilience and helped India chase down a tricky total in Mohali.
After a series of under-performance in the 50-over format, Yadav is peaking at the right moment with two consecutive fifties in his bag. Apart from SKY, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer stroked centuries with the bat. Skipper KL Rahul also completed his fifty while Ishan Kishan played a decent cameo of 32 runs.
Thanks to some excellent effort by the Indian batters, the Men in Yellow have to chase down a mammoth total of 400 runs to level the series. India are without their two genuine pacers including Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Mohammad Shami who completed a 5-wicket haul in the last match will have the onus to lead the Indian bowling department.
