Ruturaj Gaikwad showcased his brilliant batting in IND vs AUS 1st ODI. The Chennai Super Kings opener slammed a fine fifty to build a solid partnership with fellow partner Shubman Gill with both the openers slamming fifties. This wonderful batting from Gaikwad serves as a wonderful dressing rehearsal for Gaikwad ahead of the Asian Games.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead in the Indian Cricket Team in the Asian Games. While the rest of the team continues their preparation in China, Gaikwad got his chance against Australia after playing well in the T20Is. But most importantly, Gaikwad has scored some crucial runs as he aims to get his temperament set ahead of a big tournament. Leading from the front, he and Gill took the task against the mighty Aussies. The prolific CSK opener slammed 10 boundaries to reach 71 runs before ultimately being lbw by Adam Zampa.

Gaikwad has been selected in the Indian squad against Australia for the first 2 ODI matches. Following the conclusion of the 2nd game, he will travel to China to join his side and begin proceedings for the Men in Blue.
