Israel Adesanya Accused Of Having Long Nails Under UFC Rules By MMA Twitter- ‘Too long’

The Nevada State Athletic Commission could potentially outlaw Adesanya's penchant for showy attire and groomed tips, according to his adversary.

Israel Adesanya is a bit over the top. The New Zealander from Niger has previously displayed and discussed getting his nails done.

Longtime rival Jon Jones had also expressed concern about the way the Athletic Commission treated Adesanya and had asserted that he thought his nails might give him an advantage.

Israel Adesanya’s use of “long nails” during his middleweight championship defence had raised questions for Jon Jones.

The Nigerian champion faced Jared Cannonier in a title defence that lasted five times at UFC 276. He earned criticism for his performance even though he won easily.

Further criticisms for the middleweight title holder came from former light-heavyweight champion Jones, who questioned the length of his nails. The Nevada State Athletic Commission could potentially outlaw Adesanya’s penchant for showy attire and groomed tips, according to his adversary.

Former light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones also criticised the middleweight champion, questioning the length of Adesanya’s fingernails.

Insidesport

“Bro, serious question. How does Commission allow this dude to compete with those long-a** nails?”

Adesanya responded to Jon Jones’s question with

“F*** Jon Jones, f*** him I don’t want to hear about that b****, what does he want to talk about my nails for?”

“He’s just jealous and insecure, he’s a f***boy. He could never rock something like this, he’s a b****. F*** him, I don’t give a f*** what he thinks. The heavyweight world champion Francis Ngannou backed Adesanya as well. He said that Jones that the latter had been sitting back.”

MMA Uncensored has again brought back the same matter on X with a post that stated, “Israel Adesanya’s fingernails are legal or illegal?”

To this MMA fans have various responses, to mention a few one of the comments read, “Those gotta be way too long surely.”

Most of the fans seem disappointed on letting Adesanya keep such long nails, and claim it should be made illegal.
