Check out who made it to Manchester United’s 25-man Premier League squad

Erik Ten Hag gives nod to include Jadon Sancho and Antony despite controversies surrounding them.

Manchester United have revealed their 25-man squad for the Premier League. They won’t be able to make any changes to the squad until the winter transfer window closes at the end of January. Hence, Erik Ten Hag had to make well-thought-out decisions to form the squad that also included Jadon Sancho and Antony. The list includes new signings Mason Mount,  Andre Onana, Sergio Reguilon, and Sofyan Amrabat. Youngster Alejandro Garnacho and ace signing Rasmus Hojlund don’t need to be registered as their age doesn’t exceed 21 years.

Goalkeepers

Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, Andre Onana

Defenders

Jonny Evans*, Harry Maguire*, Luke Shaw*, Aaron Wan-Bissaka*, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Sergio Reguilon, Raphael Varane

Midfielders

Scott McTominay*, Mason Mount*, Sofyan Amrabat, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Facundo Pellistri, Donny van de Beek

Forwards

Marcus Rashford*, Jadon Sancho*, Antony, Anthony Martial

Jadon Sancho recently had a public fallout with Boss Erik Ten Hag. In a social media post, he accused the coach of making him a ‘scapegoat’ which he later deleted. He made these comments following his exclusion from Man United’s away match squad against Arsenal due to unimpressive “performances in training”. However, even so, the player has been included in this season’s Premier League squad. Another surprising name in the list has been Antony who decided to spend some time with his family.

He has been accused of abuse allegations by three women. He will not return to Manchester United “until further notice”. Antony has continued to deny any wrongdoing in the matter. However, he will still be away from the field. Coach Ten Hag probably included both players to be on the safer side of things. He will not be able to change this squad until the end of the winter transfer window in January end. Thus, he decided to include both in the case of emergencies.

In the meantime, fans may wonder about Man United’s £72 million star signing Rasmus Hojlund or youngster Alejandro Garnacho. Both players don’t need to be registered as they are under-21 players. A few more youngsters, like Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Hannibal Mejbri will all keep pushing for starters with the first team. New arrivals Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Sergio Reguilon, and Sofyan Amravati have all been included in the squad. A large portion of their fans also want to see Facundo Pellistri get more playing time and has been.
