PCB chief Zaka Ashraf invites Babar Azam & Co to cheer them up after humiliation in IND vs PAK

"What was meant to be was done, now focus on the next matches," Ashraf said in a meeting with the Pakistani team.

PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf met the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam alongside other members of the team in Colombo on September 12 (Tuesday). Zaka lifted the morale of the Pakistani side after their biggest ever loss against India in the Asia Cup recently. Chasing a total of 357 runs, Pakistan were restricted to 128-8 in 32 overs with Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf not coming out to bat due to injuries.

“What was meant to be was done, now focus on the next matches,” Ashraf said in a meeting with the Men in Green in Sri Lanka on Tuesday He said that “victory or defeat is a part of the game” so they shouldn’t lose heart and learn from their mistakes.

PCB chief also assured the players of having confidence in them. “You have the ability to win the Asia Cup as you have been consistently winning and will win in the future as well.” The national squad thanked the PCB chief for his support.

Skipper Babar also spoke on the occasion stating that the team will make every effort to win the upcoming games. “We will give our 100%. Our focus is Asia Cup and we will attain success for sure,” he added.

Babar Azam and Co are set to face Sri Lanka in their next Super 4s match of the competition. The match will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on September 14 (Thursday). The game is crucial for both the sides as they are coming to the match after receiving defeat from India.

To note, the Men in Green might be missing some players in the upcoming matches. Express pacers Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and middle-order batter Salman Agha are suffering with injuries and their participation against Sri Lanka remains under clouds so far.
