More trouble for Juventus! After Pogba suspension, Leonardo Bonucci sues club

Leonardo Bonucci's decision comes after he was forced to train separately from the team during the pre-season

Juventus are just not getting a breather! Following the news of Paul Pogba being suspended for alleged doping, Italian footballer Leonardo Bonucci has decided to pursue legal action against the club now. His decision comes after he was forced to train separately from the team during the pre-season. He has also announced he will donate any gainings to a charity.

The Italian footballer has claimed compensation for the alleged lack of appropriate training and preparation conditions for Bonucci. He believes the club’s treatment towards him have had a detrimental effect on his professional and personal image.

By the end of the day on September 12th, the lawyers of the player Antonio Conte and Gio Zuccheretti will be taking legal action against the collective agreement.

Italian journalist Di Marzio had previously reported that Bonucci was working at Juventus’ training ground in the evenings away from the team. He was not allowed to meet with the technical staff or use any of the team’s training facilities.

Bonucci’s noble plan

Bonucci has stated that if the court case is successful, any amount received will be donated to Neuroland, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to families of children who have been admitted to the Neurosurgery Department of Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin, as well as Live Onlus, a charitable organization that purchases and distributes defibrillators to sports teams, schools and municipalities.

Bonucci signed for German club Union Berlin as free agent on deadline day. His move came after he was left off the team roster for Juventus.

Juventus stance

Juventus, as they have said repeatedly in the past few weeks, believe that they acted in accordance with the rules in favour of Bonucci, who would have been given the chance to train, albeit away from his team-mates. This was made possible by the availability of the necessary equipment and personnel at the training ground.
